Rachel W. Glavis is an attorney who dedicates her practice to working with individuals and their families to develop and institute plans to accommodate tax savings, asset-preservation and long-term care concerns. She has experience drafting estate planning instruments, including wills, durable powers of attorney, and advance directives for health care. She prepares revocable and irrevocable trusts, including supplemental or special needs trusts. She prepares guardianship applications and assists families with the preparation of guardianship accountings and reports.
Rachel also advises executors, administrators and trustees with the administration of estates and trusts, and prepares personal and fiduciary income tax returns. She represents fiduciaries, beneficiaries and interested parties in accounting actions, will contests and other probate litigation matters. Rachel also assists clients with real estate acquisitions and sales, including the preparation and review of contracts and lease purchase agreements.
Rachel assists business owners with choice of entity analysis, buy-sell agreements and operating or partnership agreements. She prepares and files new entity formation documentation with the Department of State and Revenue Department. She also prepares bulk sale applications and business dissolution documentation.
Rachel graduated with honors from Villanova University School of Business with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. After working for a large corporation and for a national litigation consulting firm, Rachel returned to her alma mater to earn both her Juris Doctorate and Masters in Law (Taxation) degrees. During law school, Rachel was the Executive Editor for the Environmental Law Journal, and was appointed to work for her law professors as a student writing assistant and a tax research assistant.
Prior to joining Posternock Apell, PC, Rachel worked as an attorney providing similar client representation at several boutique tax firms in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and as an attorney for the Office of the Public Guardian for Elderly Adults of New Jersey.
Rachel enjoys spending time, especially outdoors, with her two sons and her husband at community sporting and Scouting events.
